Governor John R. Rogers High School is a high school in Puyallup School District in Washington, USA. Commonly referred to as "Rogers" or "RHS," this high school was named after former Washington State governor John Rankin Rogers. It was first opened in 1968.

Academics

Among the three comprehensive secondary schools in the district, Rogers ranks second in the test scores. In the 2009-2010 school year, 10th grade students showed 84.1% competency in Reading, 45.7% in Mathematics, 93.4% in Writing and 43.0% in Science on High School Proficiency Exams (HSPE).

Athletics & amp; Other Activities

Rogers currently competes in the southern division of the Puget Sound League, which also includes rivals Puyallup High School, Emerald Ridge High School, and Bethel High School. This division belongs to the 4A classification, which is for the largest schools in the state. Rogers has 10 sports approved by WIAA where they compete in the Puget Sound League 4A South.

Rogers High School supports a large number of elective offers such as art, music, drama, debate, world language, business and marketing, leadership, teaching career, and medical science. In addition, a unique career path program (called a magnet program at the Puyallup School District) includes JROTC, botany, ACE academy (construction and drafting), and welding.

RHS students have won numerous state awards from the Washington Journalism Education Association and the Washington State Music Teachers Association, and the national award of the Journalism Education Association.
