Terminology
In the table above, the following terminology is intended to be used to describe some important features:
- Audio Support : remote control software transfers audio signals across the network and plays audio through speakers attached to the local computer. For example, music playback software usually sends audio signals to locally-attached speakers, through some sound control hardware. If the remote control software package supports audio transfer, playback software can be run on the remote computer, while music can be heard from a local computer, as if the software is running locally.
- Co-Search : Web navigation by multiple people accessing the same web page at the same time. When the session leader clicks the link, all other users are transferred to the new page. Co-browsers must support multiple frames and support embedded multimedia (for example, if the page contains a video player, session leader can start synced play for all users.) Skipping URLs through other tools such as chat or phone and putting it into the browser by each user is not considered doing search together.
- File Transfer : software allows users to transfer files between local and remote computers, from within the client program user interface.
- Integrated Communications (UC) is a marketing keyword that describes real-time integration, enterprise, communication services such as instant messaging, presence, voice (including IP), feature mobility ( including mobility extensions and single number reach), audio, web & amp; video conferencing, fixed-mobile convergence (FMC), desktop sharing, data sharing (including web-connected electronic interactive whiteboards), call control and voice recognition with non-real-time communication services such as integrated messaging (integrated voice mail, email, SMS and fax). UC is not always a single product, but a series of products that provide a consistent user interface and consistent user experience across different devices and media types.
