Splash Damage Ltd. is a British video game developer specializing in multiplayer video game multi-person shooter. This studio is known as the creator of Wolfenstein: Enemy Area and Enemy Area: Quake War .

History
Splash Damage was formed in May 2001 by the creators of mods such as Quake 3 Fortress . The studio starts working with Now TV and Gamer.tv, providing custom maps and in-game television production solutions. The Splash Damage staff also works to produce and present over 150 TV shows based on Quake III Arena Capture the Flag.
In March 2002, Splash Damage partnered with Games Domain to produce multiplayer maps for their online gaming services. One is a map for id Software Return to Castle Wolfenstein by Operation Market Garden; this map is very successful online and instantly became the most played third party map for this game.
Following the success of Market Garden, Activision and id Software requested Splash Damage to generate three additional multiplayer maps for Back to Castle Wolfenstein Game of the Year Edition . That same year, Splash Damage partnered with both companies to develop Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, a stand-alone expansion based on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The Windows version Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was released online for free on May 29, 2003, with Linux and Mac versions following later. Wolfenstein: The Enemy Area won several Game of the Year Awards and Editor's Choice and remains one of the most popular online first-person shooter online titles.
In June 2003 and once again working with id Software, Splash Damage made all the maps for multiplayer mode Doom 3 ' and at the same time started pre-production on the Enemy Area: Quake War , the follow up Wolfenstein: The Enemy's Area uses a highly modified version of the Tech 4 id engine and is set in the QUAKE universe. Enemy Area: QUAKE Wars was sent on September 28, 2007, and has won dozens of awards to date, including several Game of the Year awards and more than 25 Editor's Choice awards.
In August 2016 Leyou signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement with Splash Damage with Intent to Purchase. The company was purchased by RAdius Maxima, a Leyou subsidiary.
