.me is the country's top-level country code domain (ccTLD) for Montenegro.
The top level domain .me replaces the domain.yu (Yugoslavia) and.cg.yu previously used by Serbia and Montenegro.
The .me registry is operated by doMEn, which won a contract to do so after a bidding process by the Montenegrin government and launched through various accredited registries worldwide.

Introduction
Montenegro declared independence from Serbia and Montenegro on June 3, 2006, after the majority of Montenegrins voted for independence in a national referendum. As part of the country, constituency, Montenegro has unofficially used second-level domain.cg.yu, while the top-level domain.cs (TLD) has been assigned to Serbia and Montenegro in 2003 after the breakup of Yugoslavia, but remains unused. Before the introduction of .me , the most widely used domain in Montenegro was the second-level domain.cg.yu below.yu, the Internet domain name of the Montenegrin Internet service provider T-Crnogorski Telekom, allowed for such an organization. When TLD is deleted gradually, all e-mail addresses ending in @ cg.yu are replaced by @ t-com.me, and Web sites are moved, in various ways, mostly under.me.
