Primary school
Do we really want to add all primary schools in this area to this template? That would be huge. People in 137 (talk) 00:10, January 6, 2008 (UTC)
- No, we're not. This issue has been discussed earlier in WP School. Only schools that have articles to include. I have removed the red links. Dahliarose (talk) 00:29, January 6, 2008 (UTC)
- The reason is because there is an article, but it was deleted on 27 December. I agree that only schools with articles should be included.

My original point/query is not clear. I can easily create a stub for every elementary school in my area - even adding useful information to some people. Even if I do, they should be in the template - is not that too big? One can say that a separate (or multiple, district-based) "Hertfordshire Basement" article would be better, with brief information (stubs) (location, size, special characteristics, etc.). Each article will usually be a diversion and only if the section of school becomes thick enough separate articles will be created. Personally I do not believe that every JMI guarantees an article of its own. People in 137 (talk) 20:15, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- As a general rule - still debated - is that almost all high schools are well known, but not all are primary schools. My personal opinion is that all schools should be able to have a page about them, but the policy states that they are only allowed if famous.
# 433 "> Tiddly - Tom 20:29, January 6, 2008 (UTC)- The current consensus is that primary schools are generally not well known. Many elementary school articles have been removed in recent months and very few survive with AfD. Very few primary schools meet the criteria of notation to qualify for their own pages. I think it's best to put in a template only elementary school with articles. There will only be a very small amount. This template should be a navigation tool and I do not think it helps a lot to have a link to the redirecting page. Dahliarose (talk) 20:46, January 6, 2008 (UTC)
- We agree on the impartiality of each school, even though massively, they are, IMO, famous. I do not recommend linking templates to individual school transfers (which would be ridiculous) - my proposal would be as above with a template pointing to a district region or article containing a number of schools such as incomplete samples at primary schools in Dacorum. Needs development/development, but I hope it illustrates my thinking. People at 137 (talk) 22:51, January 6, 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry I misunderstood. I have not found a page like Dacorum before but it seems like a good idea. I have just seen this Hertfordshire primary school in this template and in the current climate I would say that most are prime candidates for removal unless someone can make substantial improvements. Only Little Munden and Manor Park are famous for its listed buildings. Dahliarose (talk) 20:43, January 8, 2008 (UTC)

Maps Template talk:Schools in Hertfordshire
New category?
I realized how many schools at Herts had moved from London.
- Current schools in Herts: Ashlyns School, Dame School Alice Owen, Aske Children's School, Girls' School Askerd, Taylors Traders School, Northwood, Parmiter School, and St. John's School. Clement Danes.
- Former school in Herts: Royal Caledonian School.
- School today elsewhere: Charterhouse School.
Anyone know a category that includes this grouping? Or has a more succinct title than Category: Schools that were set up in London that have been relocated? Or maybe it could include St. John's College. Edmund, Ware who seems to have moved everywhere except somewhere in his history. Bazj (talk) 14:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Personally I feel redlink is a gentle reminder to create an article someday. But not today. Nuking part just because it all redlink feels like pretending school does not exist, just because special schools are not "sexy" and because their alumni tend to write wiki pages. My 2 Â ¢ score. Bazj (talk) 19:29, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- OK, but at least those who only cover the main reach may not have articles. Kanguole 20:44, April 4, 2009 (UTC)
- It would be in accordance with the general rule that high school is important and not preliminary. Bazj (talk) 11:43, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
