Teacher is an American television sitcom on TV Land. It is based on a web series of the same name by the improvisational group The Katydids (all group members by chance have Kate's first name as the root name), and written by six group members who also acted as teachers at Fillmore Chicago Elementary School. The first 10 episodes premiere on January 13, 2016. On March 3, 2016, TV Land updated the Guru for the 20-episode second season, which aired on January 17, 2017. On March 21, 2017, the series went on hiatus, with the last 10 episodes of the second season starting airing on November 7, 2017. On April 20, 2017, the event was updated for the third season of the 20-episode, which aired on June 5, 2018.

- Katy Colloton as Chelsea Snap, a very narcissistic teacher who sleeps and is obsessed with her looks.
- Cate Freedman as Anna Jane "AJ" Feldman (season 1-2, season 3), a rather lazy teacher whose class is often out of control. He often makes reference to using a variety of drugs. In season 3, he left Fillmore to teach in Amsterdam (citing cheaper marijuana as his reason).
- Kate Lambert as Caroline Watson, a relatively competent teacher who is a desperate person, which causes her to sometimes lose perspective.
- Katie O'Brien as Mary Louise Bennigan, a very religious conservative teacher who is described as na nave. He regards Chelsea as his best friend, and places him on a pedestal.
- Kathryn Renà © à © Thomas as Deb Adler, an antisocial teacher, often angry who was ostracized in her own school days. Being overcrowded, he had to teach his class in outbuildings like a car. She is married to an unsuccessful musician, and is pregnant near the end of season 2.

Development and production
Teachers are based on a web series of the same name, created by and starring the improvised group The Katydids. The series was originally conceived as webisodes, directed by Matt Miller and produced by Cap Gun TV, a development/production studio based in Chicago and Los Angeles.
TV Land ordered the pilot on March 19, 2014, with The Katydids repeating their roles from the web series. Executive Alison Brie produces alongside The Katydids, Matt Miller, and Cap Gun TV. Ian Roberts and Jay Martel have signed up as showrunners, with Richie Keen directing the pilot series. TV Land took its show for the series on October 1, 2014 with a sequence of 10 episodes.

Internationally, the series premiered in Australia on The Comedy Channel on October 24, 2016.

Critical reception
Teachers have received positive reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes was awarded this series with a 69% rating based on reviews from 13 critics and an average rating of 6.0 out of 10. The important consensus of the site reads: " Teacher struggles with the transition from web series to television, but gets good value for humor. "At Metacritic, the series received a 66% score based on reviews from 10 critics, showing" favorable public reviews ".
