Step-by-step guide
This page shows how to create a book from Wikipedia articles in four easy steps. Books can be created in PDF or OpenDocument format, or ordered for printing on the PediaPress website. It is possible to create a book through editing as well.
Step 1: Enable the "Book Creator" tool
If you have hidden book creators, see Help: Books/for experts # Hide and show book builder.
Step 2: Collect articles
If you go to category page, "Add this page to your book" will change to "Add this category to your book". Clicking "Add this category to your book" will add all the articles in that category.
After selecting several articles, you can click "Suggest page" and you will be presented with a list of articles related to your choice. It helps you to create a more complete book if you run out of ideas, or just want to make sure you do not forget anything.
Step 3: Review Your Book
Step 4: Download or print book preview
Book download is currently unavailable. The printed copy may still be previewed.
Maps Help:Books
on your Users page or in the book room "Community managed". The second option is only available if your user account is automatically confirmed (this usually means at least four days and 10 edits).
Finally, you should provide a title for your book collection and click the "Save books" button.
Connect to book
You can simply link to a Wikipedia page of books in the normal way.
There is also a sidebox with links to your books. There are no agreed guidelines, but it is recommended that you add them at the top of See also . Two sidebox templates are available:
- Template: Booklink is easy to use.
- Alternatively, the Wikipedia book has more options.

Revising your book
If you visit a previously saved book, a banner at the top of the page includes an option to re-open the book in "Book Creator".
The books you work on will be listed in your contribution list, which you can access through the "Contribution" link at the top right of every page each time you log in.

Print a book from PediaPress
By clicking on the "PediaPress" link, your wiki article collection will be uploaded to PediaPress, a service that prints books based on wiki content. More information on printed books can be found on the FAQ page, and on the Print Book help page, including details of the cost and format.
